Kaitan group has been involved in several tree planting initiatives. They were able to plant several species such as cacao, agoho, bagras, yakal and narra. These trees protected the slopes from erosion and prevented severe flooding downhill. As for the fruit-bearing trees, specifically the cacao, they plan to harvest it in the future to serve as an income-generating project for the community.

Although the Kaitan group started as an all-male senior tanods, several young men and women get involved recently as this requires endurance to stay for long hours under the heat of the sun. As the trees grow, they believe that they will become the protection of their community and families.

The presence of large-scale mining and mineral processing plants in Claver resulted to a drastic increase in population. People in different barangays and municipalities migrated to Claver hoping to be employed by these companies. Due to this and improper waste disposal, the volume of solid waste tremendously increased.

To turn its residuual waste into valuable assets for the community, a Residual Plastic Recycling Plant was established by Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation (THPAL) and Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Claver and its barangays. One plastic school chair is equivalent to 20 kilos of crushed and cleaned residual plastic. The products of the recycling plant are sold to mining companies for their donation drives to nearby schools.

In order for a smooth operation, an intensified solid waste management information, education, and communication campaign was also launched to instill to everyone their roles and responsibilities in the municipality. It took the residents some time but eventually realized their parts for the betterment of Claver.
